MEDICAL MARIJUANA TALKING POINTS

When contacting your state Senator and state Representative, remember to always be polite and respectful. Here are some points you can use in your call:

15 states have medical marijuana laws, and people with serious illnesses in Mass. deserve the same protections as those in Vermont, Rhode Island, and Maine.

The decision to use medical marijuana or not should be made by doctors and patients, not criminal justice policies.

Many prescription medications available to treat wasting from HIV or cancer, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gherig's disease, and other conditions are more dangerous and less effective than medical marijuana.

This reform is long overdue and widely supported- 81% of Mass. residents support safe access to medical marijuana, according to an ABC News/ Suffolk University poll.

If you are a medical marijuana patient, a family member or friend of a patient, or a medical professional, be sure to mention that to your legislator.

BE SURE TO E-MAIL MPAA ORGANIZER MATT ALLEN AT MJPATIENTS@GMAIL.COM TO LET HIM KNOW HOW YOUR LEGISLATOR HAS RESPONDED.
